LPN-BSN Track - BSN
For Students Entering with L.P.N./L.V.N. Licensure
- The LPN-BSN track is a means through which LPN / LVNs may complete a bachelor of science in nursing degree and achieve eligibility to apply to take the RN licensure examination
- Full time or part time
- No associate degree option available
- Web based distance learning with local clinical experiences
- Listing of States in which the LPN-BSN track is available for enrollment
- Map of States that recognize the LPN-BSN track
- Circumstances such as moving to a state in which the LPN-BSN Track is not available or deployment of U.S. military or their family members outside the continental United States must be communicated to the School of Nursing and will impact progression and/or completion of the degree.
- No trips to campus required
- Minimum Science GPA for admission to the LPN-BSN Track: 2.75

LPN Transcript Evaluation / PreNursing University Application
The LPN Transcript Evaluation / PreNursing application is for LPN’s with an unencumbered license in a recognized state who wish to determine eligibility for the LPN-BSN online track at Indiana State University
Prior to any transcript evaluation, you must request all transcripts (any college or university you have attended including your LPN school transcript [LPN school transcript must include date of completion of the LPN program] and your U.S. High School transcript [or equivalent]) and all examination scores (CLEP, DSST, and Excelsior exams) to be sent directly from the institution to Indiana State University:

Please note the following:
- To receive ISU credit for transfer credit reflected on the transcripts submitted for the LPN-BSN Track transcript evaluation, an official transcript from the original institution must also be requested to be sent to the ISU Office of Admissions.
- Having transcripts sent to the School of Nursing rather than the Office of Admissions delays the evaluation process.
- High School transcripts are required by the Indiana State Board of Nursing and provide possible exemption from ISU's Foreign Language requirement.
The $125 non-refundable transcript evaluation fee and the $25 non-refundable University application fee must be paid before transcripts will be reviewed. (If you have already paid one or both of these fees, you will not need to pay again.)
- This evaluation is required for each student. Notice of eligibility for admission to the nursing program will be sent via the email provided on the Transcript Evaluation / PreNursing application.
- Specific pre-admission deficiencies will be identified.
- With this PreNursing program, one will be allowed to enroll at Indiana State University and take needed pre-admission courses that are available.
- The evaluation fee will not need to be paid again.
- If you have not had an email regarding your transcript evaluation in 4 - 6 weeks after your transcripts were sent to ISU (be sure to check spam / junk mail folder), it is your responsibility to verify whether all official transcripts have been received by the ISU Office of Admissions - 812-237-2121.

University Admission Requirements
In order to request transcript evaluation, general admission standards must be met:
- Good standing at last accredited institution attended
- A 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) in all college level studies
NOTE:Transferable hours are restricted to courses in which the applicant earned a grade of "C" or higher and courses at the 100-level (and above) from regionally accredited colleges and universities. Credit from nationally accredited colleges and universities will be considered on a case by case basis.

Fifty (50) students are admitted to the LPN-BSN Track each cycle (Fall and Spring).

The minimum standards are included below, but do not guarantee admission into the LPN-BSN Track. The higher the Science GPA and the score on the Kaplan Admission Test, the higher the Admission Ranking Score.

It takes at least 6 weeks to evaluate transcripts once ALL transcripts have been received. Be sure to allow for this timeframe.

- Applicants who have received college credit from an institution outside the U.S. must submit an official copy of the transcript to Indiana State University Admissions Office (International Department) for an official evaluation to determine U.S. equivalency.
- Applicants who have a course-by-course evaluation completed by an accepted member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services may submit an official copy of the report to ISU in addition to official transcripts. A NACES’ evaluation does not take the place of an Official Transcript.
- Students who have not previously attended a U.S. institution must also demonstrate English language proficiency, by submitting an official report of Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score from Educational Testing Services (ETS).
